Hello and welcome to my ePortfolio!

My name is Chloe Schmidt, and I’m currently completing my second year in the Elementary Education Program at the University of Victoria.

I’m hoping to use this platform as a space to document and share my studies, both inside and outside the classroom, with my peers and professors over the course of teacher education.

To tell you a bit about myself, I grew up Tsawwassen, a small town with an incredible sense community. I enjoy being outside, baking or cooking, reading, as well as spending time with family and friends. I chose to pursue teaching as I have a passion for building relationships, especially with children. I am truly inspired by their active imaginations and creativity, and love how such a job is not limited in ways of encouraging individual growth and learning! With this in mind, I have taken on many teaching-related roles such as a camp counsellor, tutor, nanny, and Residence Advisor, all of which have provided me with strong leadership skills, that I am excited to use in my future classroom. Having graduated from high school with a Dual Dogwood Diploma, I am fluent in French, and am thus also interested in acquiring certification that would allow me to become a French Immersion Teacher.
